I recently came across this quote by one of my personal style icons, Audrey Hepburn:
“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes that she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides, true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows and her beauty that only grows with the passing years.”
I personally cannot think of a statement that rings more true and that is why I decided to dedicate my time towards the betterment of women by creating this collective where our aim is to empower each woman, through fashion.
Over the years, working in the fashion industry, I have come to realize the importance of fashion and how it can be used as a powerful tool in how we communicate and present ourselves to the world. I also know that our fashion choices can deter us from showing our true selves when we feel like we’re lacking in a certain area, or if we feel like we’re being judged by the way we look, or what we wear, rather than who we are and what we have to say.
That is why I made it my personal mission and goal to make women feel and look their best - to give her the confidence to take on every day, and the challenges that come with it, in her stride knowing that who she is and what she has to offer carries a lot more weight than what she looks like or which designer label she is wearing.
Having your own personal sense of style should serve as a frame to your portrait, the portrait being your own self, your ambitions, your interests, the way you live and love.
Those are the things that matter - how wonderful it is to know that gaining confidence through the way you’re dressed, will only make you live your life in a more fearless manner, to be authentically you.
To the woman reading this, the one who gives of herself, the one who follows her heart and who isn’t afraid to follow her dreams and ambitions. To the mothers, CEO’s, designers, teachers, daughters, wives, to the women who never give up the pursuit of a better future, not only for herself but for her children, and just to you – you, all-round, phenomenal woman: consider this Collective as my love letter to you.
